A 17th century Brussels tapestry fragment woven in wools and silks depicting a lady and her cat, a rare animal to be depicted on tapestry. Edged in an 18th century copper silk and metallic galon, the design on this galon matches the twining design along the edge of the tapestry. Finished with a Belgium antique silver fringe trim, all on deep-sea foam green velvet.
Condition: This piece was professionally cleaned so it’s in bright fresh condition. One small hole, less than a dime-size, where the wool is gone but the linen ground remains.
Measurements: 23 x 23
