C1898 Victorian Promenade Dress Ensemble * Silk Brocade

Lovely Victorian ensemble c1898.  We are also offering this as separates (just check our Victorian inventory).

**This bodice is created with luminous silk satin brocade.  It is fully lined and boned.  The bodice closes in front with hooks.  The neckline is ornamented with hot pink floral decorated black gossamer....it is over a pink silk.  The sleeves are finished with a puff of the embroidered gossamer for the last 6 or so inches.

**The skirt is created with gores.  The back still retains it deep gathers.  It is quite full, but not meant to be worn with much of a petticoat....gone are the bustles, and the huge skirts of the 1860's.  The fabric is a matte silk brocade with a somewhat abstract design. 

**The top and the skirt were found together....they do not appear to be an exact match.  Although, in truth they do look great together.  The top is shinier and a slightly different design.

**Parasol is not part of this sale, it is a studio prop.  

C O N D I T I O N:  Presents beautifully, is very sturdy and wearable.

****SKIRT.  Very Good to Excellent.  Some subtle wear at the very bottom of hem where it dragged on the floor....some splitting.  This is not really noticeable unless you look for it, plus it is an easy fix with a bit of fuseable webbing.  There may be a few other defects...but nothing noticeable.  Some wear to the waist band in the back by the hooks....this has been repaired.  

****TOP:  Very good to Excellent.  A bit of splitting to the pink silk under the gossamer...not really noticeable.  We picture this.  A few re-enforcements to the silk body...again not noticeable.  The gossamer has some tiny holes or issues ..which you would expect...again this is not noticeable.

S I Z E:   Skirt:  Length 42", waist 24" (there is some play in this).  Top:  Length 15" (not including point down front center), bust approx 36-37", waist 28", armhole 17" shoulder 13-14".
