One of the finest late c1890 Victorian silk brocade skirts we have seen in a long time. A glorious Evening look for today's woman, and a wonderful piece for the collector. Many of the top designers copy skirts such as this for their couture look. And for good reason! **The style of this antique skirt is perfect for todays woman as it is cut in gores...so the top is flatter and more figure flattering. It looks great with no petticoat as the skirt has reenforcement around the hem. The back has deep pleating which gives it volume and elegance. Fully lined. Hooks in the back. **The fabric is a matte silk brocade with a somewhat abstract design. We show this ensemble with a beautiful top... that came with it. This is available also....just check our Victorian Inventory. We are selling them separately as I do not think that they are a true match. They do look great together, but the top has a slightly different abstract design and is done on a satin brocade...has more of a shiny surface. **The ultimate dressy skirt for the holidays or any special event. Versatile timeless black. THE 2nd PHOTO SHOWS THE ENSEMBLE TOGETHER....which looks beautiful. C O N D I T I O N: Excellent. There may be a few defects...but nothing noticeable. Some wear to the waist band in the back by the hooks....this has been repaired. Also wear at the very bottom of hem where it dragged on the floor....some splitting. This is not really noticeable unless you look for it, plus it is an easy fix with a bit of fuseable webbing. S I Z E: Skirt: Length 42", waist 24" (there is some play in this). PLEASE NOTE: We do not clean most of our vintage clothing, and recommend that you either wash or have them dry cleaned. Any issues we believe will be problematic we mention. Thanks, Maire et al |
