Carved Italian Table 18th Century

18th century Italian Center Table. This magnificent Italian Beauty was no doubt painted in grand fashion when it was born. It is made of walnut with remnants of rich gold gilding & some areas where one can see some remnants of black ebony and small worm holes. The large octagonal top surface is dry & crusty in spots, just the way we want to see it. As you can see the base is richly carved with acanthus leaves & three layers of architectural moldings. First sight of this table just screams of natural antiquity. It is in very good condition structurally, very heavy, does not wobble. It would be a super work of art in the formal foyer or breakfast nook.
