	Fantastic hand carved game or tea table. Made in the 19th Century by the famous London furniture makers Edwards & Roberts. Amazing attention was paid to every single detail in the Chippendale design. Hand carved of a rich brown mahogany. The Legs are very bold with deep acanthus leaf carved knees that gently flow down to the strong ball & claw feet. The skirt has a perfect cut out shape on the sides. On the top surface is a wide decorative carved border & around the outer edges of the table are incredibly carved. The drawer front is also carved & has a period Chippendale brass bail handle with snipe hinges. The table has the lift top that can lay flat on the back swing legs to accommodate seating for four for a game of cards, or you can use it as many people do with the table top up against the wall, or behind a sofa, endless possibilities The interior of the drawer has had some restoration over the years, that’s normal for a table of this age .This table is exquisite & so sophisticated from every angle, very sturdy, no other repairs other than the drawer interior. The surface patina appears to be original with a very rich & warm luster.
