	Classical Design Pedestal dating from the late 1800’s to very early 1900’s.A nice pedestal carved of maple or pine & in a mahogany color stain. The column is fluted & inside each flute at top & bottom is a repousse brass mount in a classical floral form. Under the top surface on the neck of the column the classical mounts appear again in swag form all around the neck. The top surface is solid wood with some scratching from use & the base is a veneer that as you can see has some chips .The pedestal measures 42 ¼” high x 10” square top x 11 ½” square base. Even though this pedestal has a bit of damage I feel it is still a very worth piece. Consider what it took to make it .Carving of the wood which is excellent ,veneering the base, staining the wood & then applying the mounts.
