A Russian Lacquer Box Hand Painted Signed

A Russian lacquer box, with a traditional black lacquer exterior, and a red lacquer interior. The box has a hinged lid and rests on four foot slightly raised base. A painting on the top of the lid depicting a young boy and maiden in a forest, typical Russian fairy tale scene. The scene is painted in bright and bold colors with beautiful lighting and is framed with a gold line, delicate gilding and floral gilded motifs continued on the sides of the box.

The box is illegibly signed  in the lower left corner of the image and additional text on the right.

Measures Approximately: 6 3/4" x 5-1/4" x 1-1/2".Condition: Overall excellent with only minor and faint scratches to the underside and edges.
