	David Vainqueur bronze by Antonin Mercie. French 1845 -1916. Bronze signed by artist with foundry stamp. 36 inches high. In 1872 Mercie sent the plaster model of his david Vainqueur from Rome to the salon in Paris, to win the medal of first class. By the time Mercie was thiry years old he was famous. Ref: Bronzes of the 19th century by Kjellberg. Page 90.
