	I was so excited to have recently acquired this masterpiece Dutch Marquetry Desk Every square inch of this desk is inlaid .The all over decoration / design of the desk just flows so naturally & as you can see just truly undulating .This desk was made in the 18th Century ,about 1760 & and naturally has had some minor restoration that is quite undetectable with the naked eye “so to speak” The drop front opens up to make a flat writing surface that is supported by the side pull out desk supports, the interior of the desk is amazing with all of the inlaid & fitted drawers &tabernacle compartment .Under the desk top is a center panel that is flanked on each side by a small drawer, three long full size drawers follow down to the bold & sharp ball & claw feet. The drawer handles are quite unique & elaborate , being bronze in a very classical design with the best deep rich patina. The condition is very good ,as I said it has had some very fine & professional restoration, the hinges for the drop front have been replaced ,over the years any desk top surface like this one would have had the hinges break ,this is common & you can faintly see where the old hinges were & the manor in which these hinges are placed being moved closer to the center better supports the weight of the substantial desk top surface. On the top left of the desk top ,there is a sliver of the edge worn off & you can see this has been this way for a long time .The surface patina of this desk is so rich & luxurious ,having a very fine French polish. Measuring 41” Long x 25”wide at feet x 42 3/8” High .So as you can see by the measurements this is a large & substantial desk Even though I think these pictures are very good ,I can tell you that when you see this in real life it will take your breath away for sure.Shipping cost should be approximately 550.00 to most destinations /not bad at all.Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent attention to & honest respect for the Customer.
