Dolphin Andirons Bronze 19th Century

A great pair of fireplace andirons in dolphin form. Now I have had a few sets of dolphin andirons in my time, but I have to tell you that these are the most spectacular & well done form & detail ever! They have a foundry mark on the back that I can quite make out .I believe that originally they were silver plated on bronze, there is a small amount of silver remaining , that gives this pair the most unique color .Look closely at the form, it is most seductive & the fine detail is quite exceptional. They are a good large size & so heavy.
