A large & glorious Leather Bound Book.Cassells Dore Gallery containing two hundred and fifty beautiful engravings, selected from The Dore Bible,Milton,Dantes Inferno, antes Purgatorio and Paradiso,Atala,Fontaine,Fairy Realm, Don Quuixote,BaronMunchausen,Croquet Taine & etc.With memoir of Dore ,critical Essay, and Descriptive Letterpress by Edmund Ollier.Cassell & Company Limited London, Paris & New York. As I said this really is a masterpiece .The book is large & glorious .Black Leather with five raised bands on the spine & gold title stamping & simple gold gilt line tooling on the front & back covers. Gold gilt on all three leaf edges. Book has several hundred pages & is undated .It dates aprox 1870-1890.It is in very good condition , covers are great binding , tight & I’ll bet this book weighs about ten pounds! The engravings are spectacular & of course Gustave Dore is world renowned .This is the most impressive volume you can imagine .Measuring 12 5/8” x 10” x 2 ½”
