Early Derby Porcelain Candle Holders
Porcelain, Pottery: Derby Porcelain: Bow Figural Candle Holders |
| A VERY EARLY and VERY RARE Pair of Derby (Possibly Bow) Porcelain Figural Candle holders, Circa 1745 to 1750, England. These beautiful candleholders depict a Shepherd and a Shepherdess, Sitting in a Flowery Grove. He plays the Bagpipes with Dog by his side while she plays a Lute with sheep at her feet. Very Beautiful Coloration and Excellent overall condition, with some early restoration to one of the sockets that holds the candles, (the sizes of candles have changed over the years, and should not be 'forced' into place) No repairs to the figures, their costumes or bases. Again, Remarkable condition, considering their age and the delicate nature of the pieces. The Pair offered here is almost perfect, with the mention of the repaired socket. These items will be shipped in a special crate and box, with Full insurance and Signature required upon receipt. Retails @ $5,250. Malleries Price $3,800. |
