Federal Period Looking Glass

Large & stately 19th Century Looking Glass .Made by George Dixey of New York Between 1800-1825.This mirror is made of Mahogany & the surface patina is rich & mellow. All carved by hand of course. It has bras rosettes on each corner & a carved & applied carving on the crest .This is a two part mirror & the glass is original with some deteriorating of the silver back going on & this is common with a mirror of two hundred years old You can have the glass replaced if it bothers you; just keep the original glass as backing for the new glass, so you will always have it.
