A fabulous French 18th century handmade heavy metal applique in a gothic design on its original deep green silk velvet. Edged in a 19th century French silk and metallic trim and center on moss green silk velvet, finished with a thick metal cording.
Condition: Wear to the metal threads on the applique down to the silk yellow ground, which is consistent with age. Wear/rub to the raised silk velvet nap.
