A uniquely shaped French circa 1820 wooden sewing necessaire with a hand painted Chinese scene and is even signed on the lower backside for Dreyfous, the company selling the case. The inside top lid is lined with yellow silk and has the sellers name of Dreyfous located in both Paris and New York City. The beautiful swag and floral gold gilt repousee tools are nestled into their velvet-lined recesses, which include needle case, scissors, thimble, ribbon threader, crochet hooker and stiletto. The needle case has three indistinguishable maker marks and the tools are all original and sound. Slight cracking to the paint on the bottom with a few chips as shown but otherwise in excellent condition.
