An excellent carved front with a raised carving of two men and a lady walking away from a village. Exceptional work. The ends are set with fluted and turned columns. While the side grace a leaf design. The top lifts for storage. Unusual size for a coffre. The turned quarter wheel design in the front is symbolic of furniture from this region. C. 1880
