	French Damascene Aide Memoire, 1840 Antiques: Object d'art: With Miniature Painting On Ivory
	Damascene Aide Memoire with a center oval miniature painting on ivory. Silver and gold inlay like a rich patterned tapestry. Damascene gets its name from Damask silk and one can see the comparison. Interior in red satin original pencil with ivory cap and diary with the days of the week in French. Center 1 3/4 by 1 1/4 inch miniature painting on ivory of a seaport town from the 1800's. With boats at the port and a Government looking building with figures milling about. In very good condition with some natural wear.
