Typical Napoleon I period Psyche in flamed mahogany with its triangular cornice and the 2 round columns sustaining the original mirror (Mercury backed) which is 90 degree tilting. They are supported by 2 double feet in semi round shape linked together by a wonderfully carved crossbar. The back of the mirror is covered by its original pleated silk fabric surrounded by a gold piece of braid. As it should be, the 2 columns are set in gilded bronze clips at each end. The cornice has an ormolu decor of a winged female head in the center of a lozenge with palmates. Circa 1800. Dimensions: 41”W x 21”D x 77”.5H.
