This is a highly carved French walnut daybed or single bed that dates to the second half of the 19th c. This bed has beautifully carved scrolling flowers and vines, outward curving head and footboards all in the Louis XV style. The bed retains a vintage french silk velvet upholstery and french gimp all in excellent condition. One of the side rails is a replacement and there are a few minor chips in the carving. Although the headboard is higher than the footboard, this piece can be used as a daybed because of its excellent detailing. Thanks for looking.
