French Opaline Glass Sewing Etui, 1870

French Opaline Sewing Etui with all implements. Rare, perfect and complete. I have sold hundreds of pieces of opaline and never came across this piece until now. Palais Royal piece...In the form of a Jockeys cap with ormolu brim and wire decoration on the top. Top easily opens to the a wonderful treasure. In original green velvet and white cord base ....the 5 sewing accessories are housed. It is just a wonderful piece.

Scissors, thimble, needle case, threader and puller...all matched and perfect. I do not see a mark on the case and so I am assuming they are Palais Royal quality. Even the original fabric sleeves are in tact in the case. This is another piece you will never see again.

The color of the blue opaline is dark and rick.
