French Opera Glasses Rare, 1860

French Enamel Opera Glasses.....I hate using the word rare but these are indeed. I have never seen such a scene on glasses .

The first scene on one glass show 2 women fencing bare breasted  ...Sword in one hand and hiking up their skirts with the other. To the side are their capes and one hat. The one still wearing her hat is quite amazing. The next scene is 3 women all in black looking quite serious. I am assuming they are the "seconds" or on-lookers to the site. The back enameling is a wooded scene.

Silver metal I cannot see any marks for sterling with bronze eye liners.  Engraved Colmont F. Paris.

Enamel is perfect, a small bend to the metal around the glass. In good working order with working focus. These are quite unique and you will probably never see such a pair again.
