	Wow is all that I can say about this 19th century Basin Stand. Be sure to look at the close up photos. The stand is carved wood with elaborate gold leafing in the rococo shells. Under the gold leaf you can see remnants of the gesso .The surface is painted in a cream color enamel & not only that but the surface has a wonderful inscribed detail of a basket weave on the top & a triangle design all around the sides. NOW as if that wasn’t enough excitement, it has an inset porcelain basin on top. The basin is hand painted with a sensuous scene of a Lady daydreaming on the lake ,her thoughts are the rose petals that fall from her hand as cupid sails by on a sea shell chariot that is being pulled by a Swan.Oh those amazing 19th century romanticsOk that’s enough gushing I guess, The art work is just so amazing ,The pictures do no justice at all .The porcelain basin is lavishly decorated in gold enameling all around the inside.Signed by the artist “Selleu”on the lower right .Underneath the basin the title is in red script “Der Kleine Lohengrin” Translated to English “The Little Lohengrin”& the under glaze mark of a tombstone shape medallion -inside “FD Vienna” Austria.
