19th c French Sterling Silver Cigarette case with vermail interior and a delicate enamel painting mounted within. The painting depicts a typical country scene where the artist portrays an idyllic, romantic interpretation of two courting couples of the period. The scene is reminiscent of François Boucher's pastoral scenes. Unsigned. Plaque measures 3 3/4" by 3"... excellent overall.
