French Victorian Tantalus

This magnificent burl walnut cabinet is inlaid with a bronze cartouche with red enamel.  It has side doors that swing out to make lifting the caddy of Baccarat etched bottles out with care.  The French gentleman would have used a tantalus when retiring to the billiards room for after dinner drinks.

To open: Lift front panel at the crack below the lock.  To Close:  Squeeze the two parts of the left hinge of the lid together and slowly lower into the well.  Caddy of bottles can be lifted out.  There is slight damage to the Caddy and one glass (detailed pictures are available).
