Georgian Micro Mosaic Amazon Parrot

Fabulous Georgian Micro Mosaic of an Amazon Parrot set in a 14 K brooch with mother of pearl back.

The tiniest of tesserae, almost sand size makes up the Micromosaic.

Background color of white with trim of red. Parrot is Amazon green with touches of red and blue. So beautifully portrayed that you can almost feel the ruffle of his feathers. He is setting on a perch with a gold chain to his foot  and his food bowl in front of him.

Lovely face and beak.

The surface is so smooth which is the real indicator of the age.

Very rare subject matter and in very good condition with no missing tesserae.
