	Hand Painted Mezzotint Signed Fine Art: Art, Sculpture
	An exquisite mezzotint portrait after Sir Joshu Reynolds portrait of Lavinia (Bingham), Countess Spencer (1762-1831), Wife of 2nd Earl of Spencer, set in a lovely old french carved gilt wood frame. Hand printed is "Engraved and printed in the...." - unable to clearly make out the rest of the handwriting, please see pictures. Signed by artist. Versa on back: Lavinia Countess Spencer, by Sir Joshua Renolds, Published in 1902, Proofs limited to 175, no. 7, only 50 made. Sticker on back, WB Wunderly Bros. Galleries Pittsburgh. Mezzotint may be regarded as the noblest of prints, aloof from the general run of inexpensive treasures. No better method has ever been found for expressing tone and texture. The copper mezzotint block yielded only a few superb prints, no more than fifty and perhaps another fifty of lesser quality. This wonderful portrait bears number 7. Measurements: 19" x 12 1/2"
