Beautiful 1950's Wedding or Bridal Gown. This gown is embroidered Organdy with a full Princess or Ball Gown skirt. It has a natural waist and a boned strapless peek-a-boo bodice. There is also a matching removable organdy Top or "Toplet" that snaps in and serves as either a cover-up or creates a gown with sleeves. A great find! Nothing can compete with the one of a kind quality of beautiful vintage. This style is also very Chic or "In" today! **Also, I confess, I love the look of the gown, so my "Inner Stylist" got a bit carried away with the photos. My model and I had a wonderful time. She makes a gunny sak look great, but this dress has wonderful "bones" so it did not take much to have a winning look. **This gown and a few others we just listed are part of our extensive Vintage Bridal collection. This collection is a labor of love as I love Wedding Gowns! and always have. **The embroidered fabric is either a silk or silk blend Organdy..it is light and starchy. The gown has a Tuille under skirt and a heavy luscious ivory satin lining. The waistline is piped. The Organdy has a scalloped "petal style" edge at the hem and is slightly shorter than the tuille underskirt. We used one full petticoat under the gown...the starched tuille and organdy has great body and poof quality. **The Bodice is boned, strapless and created with the same embroidered organdy. It is slightly gathered over the bust and features scalloped "petal style" edge at the top. The ruffled tuille peaks out over this. It if fully lined and boned. The dress zips up the back with a metal zipper. **The little "Toplet" (my name...but sort of works!) is the sheer organdy. Sleeves just below the elbow. It snaps onto the bodice. C O N D I T I O N: Overall Excellent and freshly cleaned condition. It should probably have some fine tuning by a good dressmaker or seamstress. The tuille under skirt is a bit raggedy at the edges, and might have a few holes. This does not show. The lower edge will need to be trimmed or fine tuned by the next owner. In other words...a qualified seamstress will need to recut the bottom edge of the tuille. Satin in beautiful condition. The little organdy Toplet has some tiny holes but nothing that detracts from its appearance. The following is my opinion: If possible, I would replace the metal zipper with a finer metal zipper. If you leave it as found it is just fine as it is not a glaring problem. I find some of the older zippers a bit bulky and they detract from the gown. S I Z E: Length 57", Bust approx 35", waist 25".
