Important Walnut Bolognese Credenza a Doppio Corpo, is in Excellent Restored Condition, c17th Century. From the villa of a Roman Contessa, this credenza incorporates many elements of fine case furniture from the Emilia Romagna region. The distinctive bronze knobs can be seen on many museum pieces from that region. The credenza retains its original hardware, including intricate locks and hinges. The wood has gained a rich patina that beautifully highlights the hand worked surfaces of the credenza. A plain bonnet is placed over a dentilated cornice and a cabinet with two doors is punctuated by the signature bronze knobs. The lower portion has three sections. Two sections of four drawers are placed over a large hinged compartment at the base. All raised on a plinth with applied scroll decoration. Measuring 25” D x 67” W x 78”H it is Impressive for residential or commercial design.
