Inlaid Sewing Box Mother Of Pearl & Gold

Wow this is a totally awesome sewing box , Beautiful black lacquer Papier Mache. Elegantly inlaid with mother of pearl & gold enameling .The interior of the box is fitted with a lift out tray fitted with fairly large mother of pearl bibbins,,scissor pearl handle knives, thimble pins etc. Lift out the tray & there are small spools of thread & a few more bobbins. The overall condition is spectacular ,.The top has some surface crazing as would be expected for age & the elements in the atmosphere. This box is totally strong & tight .Measuring 9 ¾” Long x 8” Wide x 4 ¾” High. Dating from the last half of the 19th Century.
