Italian 18th C. Applique In The Shape Of A Crest With Metal Thread Design

A fabulous 18th century Italian applique in the shape of a crest with metal thread strapwork design with flowers and leaves on forest green silk velvet. This applique is quite unique because it’s totally stitched to a backing of kid leather making it thick. Trimmed out with 18th century fringe and 19th century gold metal trim with loops that form points all on taupe colored silk velvet.

Condition: Wear/rub to the silk velvet within the metal applique design and wear to the metal threads on the applique, all are consistent with age.
