Italian 18th Century Forest Green Silk Velvet Valance With Fringe

A beautiful 18th century Italian valance made with forest green silk velvet edged with a wide, 2 ¾”, gold metallic tape on top and 1” tape on the bottom. Finished along the bottom with the thickest gold eyelash fringe. Backed with a cotton green lining with hangers attached.  

Condition: Good to excellent condition for age of materials, one small 1” split in velvet and velvet has been piece. Some fray along the edges of the wide tape that is normal for age. Typically an unheard of width but while all the components of this valance are 18th century Italian, this item is newly made. (Not by Oreillers workroom.)  

This would look amazing hanging above another textile to give it emphasis.
