	Italian Sterling Silver Compact Enamel Scene Antiques: Vintage Compacts
	Here is a very charming little Italian sterling silver compact with an unusual scene on the lid of a couple holding a nest of baby birds. The lady appears to be holding out a stick with some food on the end to tempt them to eat. Very sweet! The center scene is surrounded by a border of white enameling in cloisonne' style and this is then bordered with cobalt the same way. It is quite elegant looking. The interior does show wear .. the beveled mirror in the lid has significant silver loss but at least it's still there. The original powder screen and used swansdown puff are also still inside. Overall in decent condition ... there are scratches on the surface that can be seen when held to light. Overall size is 2-7/8" wide x 2" high.
