	Pair of Italian Torcheres, c late 19th century. Featuring Hand carved, gilt and painted torcheres decorated with scrolling vegetation. The carved column decoration is similar to the Farnese marble tripod candelabrum currently in the collection of the Museo Nazional in Naples. Sicilian tastes were fond of rich gilt finishes and vibrant colors. This neoclassically inspired design makes use of acanthus leaves and lotus styled blooms in its decorative themes. Excellent Condition
