Japanese Meiji Satsuma Gosu Blue Koro Foo Lion Circa 1860

A wonderful very decorative Circa 1860, Satsuma Koro. It stands on 4 stylish feet with gosu blue highlights. The body features animal mask side handles and a richly decorated gold dragon. They are wonderful done with lots of use of gold. Large richly enameled florals encased by geometric gold designs also in this scene. Thick reds, golds greens and Gosu blue throughout. Atop the lid is a very expressive Foo Lion in golds reds and Gosu. Signed in Gosu blue on the underside.A rare very well done piece.

Measurements: The Koro stands almost 6" tall and about 4" wide.
