HISTORY: Judith Leiber (Peto) launched her business in 1963 together with her husband, Gerson Leiber, to become one of the most successful in the history of American fashion. Famous for her whimsical minaudieres sparkling with thousands of Swarovski crystals, as well as colorful exotics encrusted with semi-precious gems, she has been awarded numerous accolades. Artful Leiber creations can be found on display at numerous department stores and boutiques worldwide, as well as in private collections and museums, including the Fashion Institute of Technology, The Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (England). In 1993, the Leibers sold their firm that was acquired by the new owner. Currently operating from New York, they are expanding into the European and Asian markets, as well as in India and Dubai.
