Pair of 19th century exceptionally fine KPM porcelain vases. Theses vases have so much work in them it is hard to find a starting point to describe them to you. First of all they have a wonderful Ovoid shape and they have a gorgeous and deep reticulated top edge. They have highly stylized figural handles which are just totally incredible which I hope you can see in the pictures – a mythological colorful face with leaves coming out from behind his head to form the handles. There is a lot of raised decoration on these vases – I’m pretty sure this is one of the earlier molded and applied design work vases. They have wonderful flower bouquets with butterflies on each side of the vases. The colors are naturalistic and as beautiful as can be. The work is just extremely fine. It has gold gilding on all edges. They are marked on the bottom with the gold septor mark and underneath that there is the red sphere with the cross on top in red with KPM underneath of that – written in gold script a number for the gilders mark. The vases are truly in exceptional condition – there are some very very minute chips off one or two of the leaf handles but you have to scrutinize them very carefully to see it. What a super decoration for the fireplace mantel or sideboard. I do not think these are very common to find these days – truly exceptional art work in fine German porcelain.
