Lap Desk Birdseye Maple & Ebony

20th Century Lap Desk. This handsome box is mahogany with the most exceptional Birdseye maple veneer. It gets even more spectacular with the black ebony trimmed edges. The color combination is exceptional. The interior has a delicious tooled leather writing surface in antique green & gold. It has a lift out pen tray & a compartment for an inkwell on each side. The inkwells are missing, but easy enough to find a matching pair to put in the box. This looks like a custom made box to me & it is in very fine condition , the surface is very lusterous.It measures 11 5/8” w x 6” h x 8 ½”d.
