This lovely translucent white nephrite jade bi is an unusually large 9 inches in diameter. Carved with roaming dragons on the front, it is simplicity itself on the back. The purity of this white jade is exceptional. This size was used in a ceremonial way and it is said that this size was used by the Emperor of China to communicate with god. In ancient times, only the Emperor was allowed to use pure white jade.
