Lavish C1900 Table Cover Silk Brocade Textile * Tassels

A luscious textile in rich burgundy red....it is some sort of woven silk weave.  Trimmed with tassels and fully lined.  It is truly stunning.   Antique textiles always add depth to any interior....this could be used as a table cover, table centerpiece, a throw, or even in the center of a bed....its uses are as wide open as your creativity.

**The silk has a  softly luminous satiny surface.  Lined with burgundy felt lining.  The design features an 8 petal floral form or medallions in the center.  The  border is created with flowing forms and  Acanthus style  leaves.  Beautiful trim around all 4 sides.

**I am fascinated by the weave of this piece and am not sure what it is called.  It almost appears to be done in some sort of tapestry stitch.  The design is created with almost a grid like precision....it adds a wonderful more matte texture to the table cover. 

C O N D I T I O N:  Sold as found.  Presents beautifully.  No fading or stains...there are some definite wear spots....see photos.   We have not pictured all the wear spots as they are hard to photograph.  Lining in good condition, tassels are fine.
