TYPE: Travel beauty case trunk (a hinged lid, a solid multi layered top handle, brass latches, a light weight wood construction, padded & cushioned surfaces). Custom-made per order; one-of-a-kind and rare.
CIRCA: 1950s
SKIN: Crocodile Porosus in sophisticated pastel olive with natural color variation characteristic to the light tanned skin of this age (multiple central belly cuts of the utmost symmetry, treated with coveted lap polished Bombe finish, with original patina).
METAL: Brushed solid brass latches (engraved "Lederer")
INTERIOR: Leather and quilted leatherette (clear vinyl protectors to host little necessities, removable interior belts to hold items in place)
CONDITION: Remarkable, near mint vintage condition with only very minor signs of age. I carefully inspected it in and out and didn't find any bad damage (wear, cracks, tarnish or odor). Supple, shiny exterior. Clean interior. Solid handle with natural slight oxidation and minor signs of gentle use. Secure latches (no key).

HISTORY: Lederer de Paris, Inc. was founded in Europe by Ludwig Lederer in 1898. By 1939, when their first U.S. store was opened in New York (711 Firth Avenue), they were operating over 20 boutiques worldwide. Meticulously handcrafted from start to finish, their luxurious skin bags were meant to last.
