Madelios Paris 1940's Vintage Men's Suit

Madelios, Paris France label.  Men's vintage 40's Tropical 2 piece suit.   Madelios in Paris has long been considered a "Men's Mecca " It is an 85-year-old Boulevard de la Madeleine Institution of elegance and renown. 

**To be honest, I am not 100% sure of the date...it could be the 40's or even later (button fly pants?)  This suit came out of a prominent New England family estate where 90% of the clothing was bought in France.   Quite a fascinating collection of French retail history!

**The fabric might be a wool and linen blend....I think it has some sort of synthetic (Polyester?).  This is why it could be later than the 1940's.  It was obviously meant for the warmer weather both in color and fabric. 

**The jacket is double breasted.  It has soft shoulder pads. There are no vents in the back.  The inside has pockets, it is partially unlined.

**The pants are pleated and have cuffs.  They have a button fly.  There are 2 slash pockets in the back and adjustable fittings for the waist area.   There are buttons on the inside waist band for suspenders.  The buttons are definitely vintage...butterscotch plastic.  They might (not sure) be Bakelite.

C O N D I T I O N:  No stand out flaws except that it definitely needs to visit the cleaners.  Has been stored away for years.   We bought it directly from the estate. 

S I Z E:  Jacket:  Length 29", sleeve length 24-25", chest 42"  

Pants: Inseam 28-1/2", waist 34-35"
