Magnificent 19th C Champleve French Bronze Picture Frame With 7 Paintings

Superb and most rare French Champleve and Bronze Fan Shaped Picture frame for 7 Miniature portraits. Approx. 11 1/2 inches tall and 14 inches in length when all 7 leaves are fully extended. Sets upon a small marble plinth. I have never seen such a piece! It is quite stunning.

Quite substantial and heavy. Fan pieces slide easily into place and are contained by side slats which fit into pins to keep the fan pieces erect and in place. Champleve enameling colors of green, blue, dark blue, burgandy and white. Center stalk beautifully designed in a floral motif. Scalloped edges and center pin in a ball and cartouche design. 6 fan sleeves all have reticulated styling with a center 6 poined star. Portraits included are of a French husband and wife and their 5 children. Painted on old card.

Can accommodate portraits approx. 1 3/4 by 2 inches. All original bezel glass frames with hinged sides and beaded trim.

I see no signs of restoration or repair. Patina is superlative. So rare and thus so dear.
