Miniature Portrait On Ivory Marie Antoinette And Children

Marie Antoinette and Her Children, a miniature ivory, or celluloid portrait after the 18th century artist Vigee LeBrun.  This is a rare find, beaautifully done. 

 The miniature is housed in a very early gutta percha frame with brass rim and comb teeth irregular mounts, the framed work measuring 4.58 inches, the miniature is 3.25 inches in circumfrence. The glass is hand cut, and backing is original. There are a few lengthwise lines or cracks to the left of Marie Antoinettes head.
