Monumental Antique Carved Black Forest Stag Decorated Mantle Clo

An outstanding hand carved black forest stag mantle clock, monumental in size with two standing stags at top, two pheasants below with other birds, leaves and natural forms completing the motif. Central round clock dial having an open escapement, porcelain ring dial with black numbers. Movement signed "E. Marlin, Paris No 776" with bell strike. Antlers have some old professional repair, that cannot be seen unless you closely inspect it .The surface patina is quite exceptional, the sheer magnitude of the intricate carving will just take your breath away! This is a powerful piece & definitely makes a statement .It dates from the 19th century
