Moorcroft Florian Lilac Large Vase

Large Florian Lilac Vase (shape 304/10) by Rachel Bishop from the Moorcroft Pottery Works in Stoke-on-Trent England, a works that has been in constant manufacture since the early 20th century. This vase is from the highly sought after "Shadow" collection, exclusively released in very limited production to only a small number of dealers in 2005 of which we were one. The line sold out very quickly, but we are fortunate enough to have a few pieces left. Signed and with the impressed markings of the pottery works. These pieces are finely moulded, hand decorated with raided slip patterns, hand painted and glazed, and fired between each process -- the last firing a sumptuous shine glass that adds Moorcroft's signature gloss to the piece. This one with a deep lilac, green and burgundy glazes in stylized floral and foliate forms, typical of Bishop's designs.
