This is a rare find indeed it is an original lithograph by Adolph Lafosse born 1810 died 1879 he was a French painter and miniaturist and lithographer born in Paris was a painter of P. Delaroche exhibited paintings at the salon from 1833 to 1875 and lithographed original plates and reproductions of his contemporaries, at the bottom of this engraving under the mat is the words Paris “BULLA FRERES ET JOUY Berlin FD. EBNER” London E Gambart and Co. 25 burners street New York, Emile Seitz 233 Broadway and then there is a very interesting sticker on the back of the work and it reads this work of art has received professional restoration and conservation treatment it has been deacidified and with proper care it will last generations framed to conservation standards using true view conservation low glare glass with Ultra Violet blocking and sealed acid free environment has been created for its ongoing protection, and it is signed Teresa Doucette conservator 1994, it is a truly wonderful work of art the colors are muted and lifelike you have to see the faces on Napoleon and his son it truly does give you goose bumps this work is amazing and it signed Lafose on the lower left the frame is simple elegant and gilded carved wood if you are a fan of Napoleon you like the classics and your classic Napoleonic decoration this is the absolutely perfect decoration for you, a work of art it’s a large size, Napoleon and Son Groupes D’Etudes for the Napoleonic history
