Inquire About Item
An unusual Native American ash ladle with a strong attribution to the New York Seneca Indians, although found in southern Canada. Well used but not abused, having an unusual deeply-stepped cross graining that cascades down the length of the handle into the bowl and out like rippling water. The surface may have had a very light finish of a sort applied at one time, although for the most part is worn off. The terminal end has a resemblance to an eagle. A wonderful piece for the collector or admirer of unusual or fine old treen.
Measurements: The bowl measures 5 1/2 inches at its widest, 8 1/2 inches long lip to top of the handle.
Year: 19th Century
