Early Native American Tiger Maple and light burl treen ladle / scoop. Another fine example of the utility ladles used by the Seneca Indians. This ladle also has strong bands of tiger running around the entire lenth of the slightly curved handle, which is also graced with a large old cavity and terminates with a worn V Shaped end that would fit the wrapped pinky finger nicely as it was used. The scoop has spatterings of burl figure across the bowl, but for the most part clearer grain with a great surface. Very stout appearance, short and thick as it was made to be a work horse utility ladle / scoop. A perfect match for the other newly listed ladle as it exibits the same dark tiger bandings and coloring, thickened diameter of the handle and great surface, making a fine grouping. Measures 4 1/2" wide, 8 3/4" long, handle is 5" long. 1 1/4" diameter.
