Natural Gemstone Nuggets Strung in a 12 Strand Nesting Necklace Adjustable length with Gold Plated Hardware Amethysts, Rock Crystal, Onyx and Tourmaline in all shadings for a gradated color scheme

 

I purchased this at Neiman Marcus and was told at the time that it was by Michael Dawkins Because of the hardware, and the fact that there is no signature my guess would be Jose Maria Barrera. There are two long gold plated bars on each end with loops to accommodate each single strand The strands are perfectly graduated in length so that they nest perfectly. The gemstones range from shades of Amethyst, Rock Crystal, Tourmaline and Onyx. Betweed each Gemstone or two are a few tiny Iris Colored Glass Seed Beads which give unity to the coloration The designer of this was a master of coloration and one color flows into the other and back again. Shortest strand is 13" long plus hardware Longest strand is 21" long plus hardware The chain and Flowerette Hook Clasp add about 5" to the length The width when open is 7" in the center and when closed about 5" deep. This retailed for about $800.00 and has been in my possession for about 10 years.

This is a very beautiful and unusual necklace, more timely now than the day it was made. The colors are magical and it will work with almost everything in your wardrobe. What a wonderful way to fill in a neckline-Or wear it over a buttoned up shirt with the collar over it or standing up This is jewelry as a fashion accessory.
