This is a chance to own a piece of American history Norman Rockwell created this painting in 1922 for the Sharon Steel Company. What a tribute to the workers who worked in the nation's steel mills during an exciting part of American history. Rockwell (1894-1978) was a 20th century American painter and illustrator that became one of the artistic giants of his lifetime. His works enjoy a broad popular appeal across the U.S., where Rockwell is most famous for the cover illustrations of everyday life scenarios he created for The Saturday Evening Post magazine over more than four decades. Among the best known of Rockwell's works are the Willie Gillis series, Rosie the Riveter, Saying Grace (1951), and the Four Freedoms series. He is also noted for his work for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA); producing covers for their publication Boys' Life, calendars, and other illustrations. This painting is accompanied by an Appraisal that includes an opinion as to authenticity as well as documents from Illustration House. This painting was valued at 70,000 in 1999. Provenance: Purchased from an East Hampton, New York collector.
